Why Art! - C. Turner Cornett |

Mystery! |
|
What is the mystery
about a piece of art? Is it the color, size, originality, or is there
something else? I can remember the first time my mother, who has quite
a few of my paintings, wanted to buy one of mine. It was one of those moments, where
words have a hard time expressing all the things I was feeling, or my mother
was feeling. It was as if at that moment, I was not just her daughter
creating artwork anymore, but had created something that she did not want to
see lost. This painting had changed both our lives.

Color! |
|
Some people love bright colors, others
dull. Some like warm reds and others cools blues and violets. My
father and mother each had a favorite painting of mine, and each painting
was different. Colors is such a difficult thing to explain, because no
two people see it the same, everyone's eyes see color just a bit different. |

Size! |
|
Diamonds and boulders are both rocks,
one a bit smaller that the other, but we are fascinated by Diamonds not
because of their size but their mystery. If no one liked diamonds,
they would just be a different color rock.
You can buy a large painting and hang it
over the sofa, or many small ones. Small and large has more to do with
where you want to hang the painting. |

Original! |
|
So what does original painting mean, it
means I designed it! I did not use someone else's photograph, or
someone else's painting, |

Something Else! |
|
A long time ago, Renoir was told that
people did not want his hand painted plates, they wanted plates made by
machine. They wanted them all the same.
An artist can only create so many
artworks, no two the same, the quantity is limited by time and materials. The art
lover or collector is also the caretaker of what artwork will survive for the
future. When you collect art, you decide what art is to survive,
what art is important or not important!
Thank you the art lover for collecting and
sharing my paintings with your friends and family! |
